Short Bio:
Guido De Flaviis took the saxophone diploma in Milan with a first-class honors degree in 2004 and in 2007 he took with honors, the Master Degree at the Dutch national academy of music in Amsterdam.
He won three Scholarships as the “Top Talent” in Netherlands and was awarded with the first absolute prize among all the categories of soloists in two international competitions and the second price in the chamber music category.
His concert activity with different chamber music groups made him perform at music festivals and concerts in the most famous Italian and European Theaters He has played with a lot of different orchestras like the “Scaligeri”of “La Scala”,the S.Cecilia of Rome, Verdi of Milan; Camerata, Hromaton and ERT of Athens; Kratiki’ of Thessaloniki.
During the last years he specialized in the performance of contemporary pieces and has performed and made recordings of premieres of pieces dedicate to him.
Trying to find new ways of expression he is giving a special attention to free avant-guard improvisation techniques.
In the 2008 he moved in Athens were he participated for one year in the saxophone quartet of T.Kerkezos.
As a soloist with orchestras Guido has already more than fifty concerts to his credit. He is also a saxophone teacher at the municipal’ conservatory of Patra.
